Projects
The best way to “meet” our artist friends is through actual projects — the centerpiece of each session that introduces a new artist.
After a brief introduction to the artist in age-appropriate language — their times, challenges, success, and what makes them relevant today — we engage in a hands-on project with the students. Using materials we have provide (at no cost) before the session begins, the students make a piece of art based on one of the artist’s great works. The instructions are simple, and we go step-by-step with the students, staying actively engaged (even via Zoom) to help students along the way.
